Ranger 2.0 Epic

Aurora, the Heartwood Blade (62649)

To begin this quest you must have completed the Ranger 1.5 Epic quest.

NOTE: Several npcs involved in this quest are spawned when a ranger on the appropriate step enters an area on the map. If you get a "try again later" message you will need to wait up to 2 hours and then leave the area and re-enter.

Pre-Farmable Steps

• Step 6 - Farm Living Fragments of Fire/Water from PoP Elemental zones
• Step 10 - Loot Globe of Discordant Energy from Anguish

Step 1 - Nedaria's Landing

• Find a Wayfarers Brotherhood officer in Nedaria's Landing
• Hail to receive an emote and character flag (required first step)

Step 2 - Nobles' Causeway

• Go to Nobles' Causeway and head to the place marked on the map (650x 250y)
• Siflu in Nobles' Causeway will spawn and attack (2 hour cooldown indicated by a message to try again later)
• Get Siflu to low hitpoints (10%) but do not kill and the fire elemental will go non aggro and talk to you
• Say "adventurers" to receive Heated Loadstone (62628)
• Siflu depops after a ranger on step gets the loadstone - must wait 2 hours and re-enter area to spawn again for another ranger

Step 3 - Wall of Slaughter

• Go to Wall of Slaughter with a group and head to the place marked on the map (40x -1115y) - ideally clear the area of other mobs before a ranger gets too close
• When a Ranger on this step gets close a mangled muramite captain in Wall of Slaughter and two aged ukun in Wall of Slaughter spawn and aggro - two hour cooldown ("try again later")
• Kill them and loot Traveler's Journal (62629) and Spirit Manacles (72340) dropped (must be on this step to loot)

Step 4 - Nedaria's Landing

• Return to a Wayfarers Brotherhood officer in Nedaria's Landing
• Give the officer Traveler's Journal (62629) to receive a character flag

Step 5 - Torgiran Mines

• Go to Torgiran Mines and loot Crooked Cage (32042) dropped (6-slot container) from a Broken Skull Bruiser or a crazed miner (rare drop - must be on step to loot)

Step 6 - Elemental Fragments

• Loot Living Fragment of Fire (28294) dropped from mephits in Plane of Fire
• Loot Living Fragment of Water (28293) dropped from metphits in Plane of Water
• Combine the following items in Crooked Cage (32042) dropped to receive Spirit Cage (62656)
  • Earthcaller (20488)
  • Swiftwind (20487)
  • Living Fragment of Fire (28294) dropped
  • Living Fragment of Water (28293) dropped
  • Heated Loadstone (62628)
  • Spirit Manacles (72340) dropped

Step 7 - Riftseekers' Sanctum

• Go to Riftseekers' Sanctum with a raid and head to the red circle on the fire side of the zone
• When a ranger on step gets close to (-17x 1385y) Craftmaster Tieranu in Riftseekers' Sanctum will spawn and aggro - 2 hour cooldown (leave the area and re-enter - "try again later")
• Kill Tieranu and loot Ring of Warmth (11427) (must be on step - chance to spawn chest)
• Flamegore in Riftseekers' Sanctum and Sizzle in Riftseekers' Sanctum spawn during the encounter
• The final elemental is Hotspot in Riftseekers' Sanctum and will spawn four elementals when it dies
  • Burnscar in Riftseekers' Sanctum
  • Cinder in Riftseekers' Sanctum
  • Coal in Riftseekers' Sanctum
  • Flametop in Riftseekers' Sanctum
  • Flareup in Riftseekers' Sanctum
• All fire elementals that spawn in this event will periodically cast Heatwave 5816 (pbae 1500 dd) and will also periodically fade/strip/nuke all spell buffs/debuffs from another npc in the event
• Tieranu locks hitpoints at 10% until all fire elementals are killed

Step 8 - Wall of Slaughter

• Go to Wall of Slaughter with a raid and head to the red circle (-1490x 2015y)
• When a ranger on step gets close Herrian Warfrost in Wall of Slaughter will spawn
• Kill Herrian and loot Hoarfrost Wand (76999) dropped (must be on step - chance to spawn chest)
• Permarooted, high hp
• Initially and periodically summons three an excited builder in Wall of Slaughter
• Frequently casts 5819 Winter's Freeze (1500dd on hate list)
• Frequently casts 5818 Hoarfrost (20 second stun) on target and 2 other random players on hate list

Step 9 - Combine

• Combine Ring of Warmth (11427) and Herrian Warfrost in Wall of Slaughter in Spirit Cage (62656) to receive Elemental Ice Spirit Cage (62647)

Step 10 - Anguish

• Raid Anguish, the Fallen Palace and obtain a Globe of Discordant Energy (47100) dropped
• Drops from the following events:
  • Keldovan the Harrier/Jelvan (only one of the two based on who you kill last)
  • Warden Hanvar/Ture (only one of the two based on who you kill last)
  • Arch Magus Vangl
  • Overlord Mata Muram

Step 11 - Anguish Combine

• Go to Anguish (anywhere in zone)
• Combine Globe of Discordant Energy (47100) dropped in Elemental Ice Spirit Cage (62647) which will spawn Yuisaha in Anguish, the Fallen Palace

• Give Oshimai Globe of Discordant Energy (47100) dropped, Elemental Ice Spirit Cage (62647) and Heartwood Blade (62627) merchant to receive your Epic 2.0 Aurora, the Heartwood Blade (62649)
