Spear of Fate (10651)

Summary

The Shaman Epic should be done in a linear fashion because progression is based entirely on Truespirit faction. In order to progress, you'll need an increasing amount of faction up until you reach the final turn-in, where you'll need Ally.

Pre-Farm List:

• Step 4 - Loot Envy and Woe from Glaron the Wicked. Loot Marr's Promise from Tabien the Goodly. Both are in Rathe Mountains.
• Step 9 Part 1 - Loot 6 random drops from City of Mist
• Step 10 - Loot 3x Books from Lord Ghiosk in City of Mist
• Step 11 - Loot Icon of the High Scale (ground spawn) in City of Mist
• Step 16 - Loot Child's Tear in Plane of Fear

Step 1 Tiny Gem

1. Spawn a lesser spirit by killing one of the following NPCs:

• Capt Surestout in Ocean of Tears
• Peg Leg in Butcherblock Mountains
• an Iksar manslayer in Field of Bone
• Blinde the Cutpurse in Rathe Mountains

2. Say "no more" to the lesser spirit to receive Tiny Gem (1665).

Step 2 Opaque Gem

1. Find Bondl Felligan in West Freeport. He is behind a fake wall out in the field area.
2. Give Bondl Tiny Gem (1665).
3. Bondl will start walking towards North Freeport. Follow him into North Freeport zone.
4. In North Freeport, Bondl will continue to walk to the basement of The Jade Tiger's Den.
5. Two a greater spirit in North Freeport will spawn.
6. Say "heyoka" to either spirit to receive Opaque Gem (1666). Multiple Shaman can do this step at once.
7. Say "I will walk the path" to either spirit for a little experience and to despawn the spirits.

Step 3 Small Gem

Make sure you have some form of Enduring Breath for this step.

1. Find Ooglyn in Erud's Crossing.
2. Give Ooglyn [Item(1666, opaque gem)]].
3. Ooglyn will walk into the water and swim away. Follow.
4. When Ooglyn says "Ok, here is place for you to for waiting. Hab fun shaman!". Stay there.
5. Ooglyn will swim away from you and after a few minutes several NPCs will spawn and say things.
6. You do not need to follow or talk to any of the NPCs, just wait patiently. Possibly up to 20 minutes of just waiting.
7. Eventually, a greater spirit in Erud's Crossing will spawn out in the water.
8. Say "next path" to the spirit to receive Small Gem (1667). Multiple Shaman can do this step at once.

Step 4 Rathe Mountains

1. Kill Tabien the Goodly in Rathe Mountains and loot Marr's Promise (1675) dropped.
2. Kill Glaron the Wicked in Rathe Mountains and loot both Envy (1677) dropped and Woe (1676) dropped.

Step 5 Sparkling Gem

1. Find a wandering spirit in Western Plains of Karana.
2. Give the spirit Small Gem (1667). Only give the single item for this trade.
3. Give the spirit the following three items:

• Marr's Promise (1675) dropped
• Envy (1677) dropped
• Woe (1676) dropped

4. Say "last path" to receive Sparkling Gem (1668).
5. Optionally say "shield of falsehood" to receive a non-quest related Shield of Falsehood (1679).

Step 6 Spirit Sentinel

1. Find Spirit Sentinel in The Emerald Jungle. There are two Spirit Sentinels in zone. The one for this step is at 283x 1235y. This spirit will respond to "I will continue what I have started" if you're not sure.
2. Give the spirit Sparkling Gem (1668).

Step 7 Black Dire

1. Kill an advisor in Castle Mistmoore to spawn Black Dire in Castle Mistmoore.
2. Kill Black Dire and loot Black Dire Pelt (1672) dropped.

Step 8 Spirit Sentinel

1. Go back to Spirit Sentinel in The Emerald Jungle from Step 6.
2. Give the spirit sentinel Black Dire Pelt (1672) dropped.
3. Say "how it all began" to receive Ancient Journal (17805).

Step 9 City of Mist Trash

1. Go to City of Mist and kill trash spawns to collect the following five drops:

• Crier's Scroll (18451) dropped
• Merchant's Letter (18452) dropped
• Personal Diary Page (18450) dropped
• Priest's Diary Page (18454) dropped
• Written Announcement (18453) dropped

2. Kill a spectral courier in The City of Mist and loot Student's Log (18455) dropped.
3. Combine all six items in Ancient Journal (17805) to receive Completed Report (3599).

step 10 City of Mist Ghiosk

Having a pick lock class to open the door is useful, or you can get Stone Key from Captain of the Guard.

1. Spawn by killing a black reaver in The City of Mist behind a locked door in the throne room. Pick lock to open the door or loot a Stone Key (12961) dropped from Captain of the Guard in The City of Mist. On death, 10% chance to spawn Ghiosk or another black reaver. The chain may spawn many black reavers in a row.
2. Kill Ghisok and loot the following three items:

• Crusades of the High Scale (18457) dropped
• Head Housekeeper's Log (18458) dropped
• Historic Article (18456) dropped

Step 11 City of Mist Ground Spawn

1. In City of Mist, loot the ground spawn Icon of the High Scale (1671). It is on ground level inside the North temple in a small room.

Step 12 Spirit Sentinel

1. Go back to Spirit Sentinel in The Emerald Jungle from Step 6.
2. Give the sentinel Completed Report (3599).
3. Find the other Spirit Sentinel in The Emerald Jungle near the lake on the North side of the zone. Under water. This sentinel responds to "is lost" to double check.
4. Give the under water sentinel the following three items:

• Crusades of the High Scale (18457) dropped
• Head Housekeeper's Log (18458) dropped
• Historic Article (18456) dropped

Step 13

Head to The Hole and find High Scale Kirn (-20, +260). A level 60 group should be able to handle him with ease. Give him Icon of the High Scale. He will attack. Kill him and loot Engraved Ring.

Step 14

Go back to City of Mist. You'll need to spawn Neh'Ashirr. He can be spawned by killing a black reaver inside the hut on the very last floating island. You'll need a pick lock to get there. Be careful of the hole trap inside the hut; levitation is recommended. Once Neh'Ashirr has spawned, give him Engraved Ring. He will instantly respawn. Kill him and loot Neh'Ashiir's Diary. A group of level 60s should be able to handle him.

Note: You can also optionally loot Key of Torsis (temporary) to open the City of Mist elevator later (for last fight of epic), but a picklock class works just as well.

Step 15

Go back to the Lake in Emerald Jungle. Give Neh'Ashiir's Diary to Spirit Sentinel (1000 faction increase).

Step 16

Go to Plane of Fear You will need to kill either, Dread, Fright, or Terror to spawn Iksar broodling. It is level 1. Kill it and loot Child's Tear.

Step 17

Go to City of Mist for the last time! You will need a lock pick again if you don't have the keys. Unlock the first door, then in the hallway behind the first a black reaver you will see a wooden platform on the ground. This is actually a locked elevator. You can either pick the lock or use Key of Torsis (Temporary Key) from Neh'Ashirr. Take the elevator up and kill a black reaver in the back of the room to spawn Lord Rak'ashirr. Give him Child's Tear. He will attack. Kill him and loot Iksar Scale.

Step 18

Go back to Spirit Sentinel in the lake in Emerald Jungle. Give him Iksar Scale to receive Spear of Fate! You'll lose all your faction gained upon Epic completion.
